The Temple Mount of discord
Jesus Christ is the New and Everlasting Temple

18 Some Jews said to Jesus, “Show us a miracle as a sign from God. Prove that you have the right to do these things.” 19 Jesus answered, “Destroy this temple and I will build it again in three days.” 20 They answered, “People worked 46 years to build this Temple! Do you really believe you can build it again in three days?” 21 But the temple Jesus meant was his own body. 22 After he was raised from death, his followers remembered that he had said this. So they believed the Scriptures, and they believed the words Jesus said.
John 2:18-22

The Dome of the Rock is regarded as occupying the actual space where the Second Temple once stood, but some scholars disagree and instead claim that the temple was located either just north of the Dome of the Rock, or about 200 meters south of it, with access to the Gihon fresh water spring, or perhaps between the Dome of the Rock and the Al Aqsa Mosque. Since the destruction of the Seco/nd Temple in 70 CE, religious Jews have expressed their desire to see the building of a Third Temple on the Temple Mount. Prayer for this is a formal part of the Jewish tradition of thrice daily Amidah prayer.

Barclay's Gate between Wilson's Arch and Robinson's Arch - were named for the explorers who discovered them. Barclay's Gate is named after James Turner Barclay who was a Christian missionary in Jerusalem in the mid-19th century. Major-General Sir Charles William Wilson, a British Army officer, geographer and archaeologist, in 1854 publicized the find of Swiss physician Titus Tobler who had earlier discovered and identified the structure known now as Wilson's arch as part of the bridge between the Temple Mount and the Upper City in his 1845/46 writing. Robinson's Arch was named in the honour of Edward Robinson, the Father of Biblical Geography who in 1838 identified remnants a monumental staircase carried by an unusually wide stone arch.
