will happen when the special child is born. God will give us a son who
will be responsible for leading the people. His name will be “Wonderful
Counselor, Powerful God, Father Who Lives Forever, Prince of Peace.” Isaiah 9:6 Easy-to-Read Version (ERV)
Silent Night, Holy Night, all is calm, all is bright round yon Virgin Mother and Child,
"Silent Night, Holy Night, Everything is calm and bright around that Virgin Mother over there and her Child."
Holy Infant so tender and mild, sleep in heavenly peace, sleep in heavenly peace.

People are not our enemies; satan is the enemy, who
tempts us and desires our destruction. He hates God and all those who
follow Jesus. There is nothing he desires more than to get you to
listen to the lies he whispers to us. If we are to be Christians who
chase after Jesus, then we need to expect that the devil will do
everything he can to get us to fail.
The Ninth Station of the Cross. Jesus falls a third time
Leader: We adore you, O Christ, and we praise you.
All: Because by your holy cross You have redeemed the world. Jesus, your
journey has been long. You fall again, beneath your cross. You know
your journey is coming to an end. You struggle and struggle. You get up
and keep going. As a child, sometimes I fail time and time again. I
find it hard to get along with my sisters and brothers, sometimes I'm
not honest, sometimes I'm lazy. I'm tempted to stop trying. It's just
too hard sometimes. As an adult, I often feel I should have conquered
my weaknesses by now. I become discouraged when I'm confronted by the
same problems over and over again. Sometimes I get weary. When I have
health problems, I can become discouraged and depressed. Help me think
of the cross you carried. Help me continue to hope that I can make the
changes in my life I need to. You didn't give up. I can have the
strength to get up again as well. My Jesus, by all the bitter woes Thou
didst endure when for the third time the heavy cross bowed Thee to the
earth, never, I beseech Thee, let me fall again into sin. Ah, my Jesus,
rather let me die than ever offend Thee again. Our Father.... Hail
Mary.... Glory be to the Father.... Leader: Jesus Christ Crucified.
All: Have mercy on Us. Leader: May the souls of the faithful departed,
through the mercy of God, Rest in Peace. All: Amen.

Pagan wise men -
Patheos. Pagan wise men “from
the East” came to worship Jesus Christ. They were pagan mystics,
Magi, magicians, who were skilled in the metaphysical arts. While,
centuries later, the term magus would be seen as an evil thing,
Marsilio Ficino reminded renaissance readers that the Gospels had no
problem the title and honoring those who were themselves magi as the
first ones to come and worship Jesus. In this work the first of all
were the Magi who worshiped Christ as his birth. Why, therefore,
should you be afraid of the name ‘Magus,’ as if it were
terrifying? It is a name pleasing to the Gospels, not something
wicked and venomous, but signifying a wise man and a priest. Was not
such a Magus the first worshiper of Christ? It sadly had become
common for Christians to denigrate pagan myths and traditions, to
reject any connection between Christianity and the pagans of old.
When they do that, they undercut the work of Christ. He was the
expectation of the nations (cf. Gen 49:10). Those Wise Pagans,
